About this Dog
Animal Profile: Athena is an estimated 2-year-old spayed female German Shepherd mix rescued from San Bernardino city shelter where she was a stray intake and euthanasia listed for space. Shelter volunteers reported she was friendly with people and dogs, and we tagged her. She arrived to foster care extremely emaciated, just 45 lbs. We will share more about her once we get her healthy in foster care. Foster Update: Athena is settling in well! She is a sweet mellow girl who loves to lay around and cuddle. Athena is a quick learner and has mastered sit and paw and we are currently working on the stay command. She is crate-trained and potty-trained. Athena enjoys meeting new people and dogs. She walks well on a leash other than some occasional pulling when she sees another dog she is excited to meet. Athena arrived significantly underweight and will require an adopter who will continue to help her feel secure and work on her slow and steady weight gain progress. She is food-motivated and has had a good appetite in her foster home and we believe her weight issues are related to being a stray and kennel stress rather than other health issues. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current on DPPV & Bordetella. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue. Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: T his dog was rescued from the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter in San Bernardino, California and being transported via Wiggle Butts, arriving to Seattle area foster care 3/17/2024. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.

Adopt Athena and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Athena's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Athena's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Athena, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Athena's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Athena was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Athena’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Athena’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Athena’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
