About this Dog
Animal Profile: Gus is an adorable, 12 lb dachshund/terrier mix who is estimated to be around 4 years old. He was originally rescued from a high-kill shelter in Bakersfield, CA and arrived in Seattle in January. Foster Update: Meet Gus! This sweet guy has been quick to steal the heart of everyone he meets. We are guessing he is a dachshund/terrier mix, with the cutest wiry fur along his back. He has been getting settled into his foster home and doing great. His foster mom shares, "Gus is a sweet, well-mannered gentleman with a playful, curious nature. He’s been settling in quickly and is loving exploring every inch of our house and backyard. Gus is potty trained and he is quiet and content in his crate — in fact we’ve barely heard him make a single peep except to howl along with an ambulance on his way home! He’s a little shy with new people but has warmed up to us in just a few days to the point where he’s now asking for pets and is dying to snuggle on the couch (we won’t let him at this time poor guy!). He likes to do zoomies in our basement when it’s playtime but also is great at settling down on a dog bed in my office when I’m working. I think this little guy is going to be a total socialite once he has really settled in and gained some confidence. Oh and he has yet to turn down a single treat and cleans his bowl every meal, so safe to say he is food motivated!" As Gus has continued to settle in, he has shown some excitement on his leash where he will pull or vocalize at passing dogs/people. His foster family has been working with him on his leash manners, and he has shown great improvement. His forever family will need to feel comfortable to continue to keep up good leash manners with Gus. Adopt Gus and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Gus's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Gus's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Gus, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Gus's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gus’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Gus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gus’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
