About this Dog
COURTESY LISTING If you would like to learn more about FRIDA please contact Lucky Paws Rescue at [email protected] or [email protected] or call at 253-229-6044. Meet Frida! She is between 3 -4 years old and weighs about 77 pounds. Frida has been spayed, fully vaccinated, and is a healthy girl. Even though she may act aloof at times, don't let that fool you. Frida LOVES people! She is a good mix of mellow and energetic. Once settled in, she matches the energy of the home and current mood. She chills out or plays with her Border Collie foster brother while her foster mom works at home. She’s happy to sleep in her dog bed at night, but also enjoys some couch snuggle time occasionally. She’s typically pretty quiet, but she talks excitedly at meal time, and gets the attention of her foster mom & dad if she gets bored while hanging at the local brewery. She was surrendered by her owner and moved directly to her current foster home in September 2022. Her previous home had several roommates and she was never left alone, so she does have a bit of separation anxiety learning to be left alone. When left alone, that’s when she has gotten loud like a husky! Her current foster home is helping Frida learn to be calm and relaxed when left in the house alone and has made great progress. She can be dog selective, and needs slow introductions to other dogs. With other dogs, she may try to establish herself as “top dog.” She was introduced to her two foster brothers too quickly and had a temporary setback, but they have all integrated and are doing very well together now. Over time, she has continuously improved with being around other dogs. Frida currently lives on acreage and will chase the deer if she gets a chance, but when there’s no deer around, she does very well off-leash exploring the grass and looking for critters. She has decent recall--she likes to think about it for a moment and make it seem like it was her idea to come bounding back to you. She’s a Mal/Husky!
