About this Dog
Animal Profile: Congee is a terrier mix who was found inside a home after his owner tragically passed away. He was transferred to a local shelter, but he was extremely shut down and terrified in that environment, making him at risk for euthanasia. He was transferred to our rescue and has been spending the last few months getting settled in his foster home. Foster Update: Congee has made leaps and bounds since his first days out of the shelter. He has come out of his shell, shown us his best traits and the areas where he will need some ongoing attention, and he is now ready to find a forever home that can give him the care and patience this sweet boy deserves. Congee's foster family describes him as being extremely loving and sweet. He enjoys his people, and he thrives in a calm and routined environment. He appreciates being petted and cuddled, and he does okay with being picked up. While Congee's main goal is to be by his human's side and he makes a fierce and loyal companion, he can fall into flight mode if something spooks him or catches him off guard. He will need a confident handler that can read his body language, and know when to be calm and keep his trust when he does startled. Congee is being fostered with two other dogs in the home, and he does well with both of them. While he hasn't engaged in much play (or may have not yet figured out the whole concept) he has benefited from their confidence and enjoys being able to learn from their cues. He is also living with cats, and does very well with them. Congee does well on walks, though he would do best in a quiet environment, and he would appreciate a fenced yard to explore. With his flight mode in mind, he can get startled by loud or unexpected noises when out on walks. With a confident handler on the other side of the leash, Congee follows a great loose-leash heel. He does great in his crate overnight, and he crates well at periods throughout the day, though he will get restless if he hears his humans nearby. He does well with his regular potty routine, but he doesn't have a great "tell" yet of when he needs to go out. It's been so rewarding see how much progress Congee has made over the weeks. He continues to show his love for his humans, and he is finally grasping the concept of toys and enjoying playing with them. We are excited to find his special forever home that can continue to help Congee thrive. He will need a family with some dog experience, and that can be confident handling Congee at the times he retreats to his flight mode. He would do best in an adult-only home. Adopt Congee and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Congee's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Congee's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Congee, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Congee's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Congee was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Congee’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Congee’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Congee’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
