About this Dog
Animal Profile: Aiko is an estimated 10-month-old male terrier breed mix pup who was pulled from Caddo Parish shelter in Louisiana as a 3-month-old and arrived in Seattle on 08/08. In true puppy form he is sweet, playful, and good with people and other dogs. He is currently about 35lbs. Foster Update 1 (Fall 2023): Meet Aiko! His name means "Little loved one" in Japanese and the name sure suits him! Although he's had a rough start to life, he's the happiest boy you'll ever meet! He gets along amazingly with other dogs of all shapes and sizes plus loves playing with them. He loves people and has been friendly with everyone he's met, plus comes running with his tail happily wagging when I call him. He loves food and playing with toys. He's such a silly goofball, everyone he's met so far loves him! Foster Update 2 (Jan 2024): Aiko has been super resilient despite a failed adoption. He has had full obedience training and knows all the basics -- loose leash walking, recall, sit, place, and down. He does need an owner who can meet his mental and physical stimulation needs as well as hold him accountable. He is crate-trained though he can be a little vocal if he feels he is missing out. Aiko shows a little too much interest in the cat in his foster home so we feel he would be most successful in a feline-free home. He would do best with a playful resident dog and meets dogs well off-leash. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. He was adopted as a puppy but sadly returned 5 months later as the owners had a newborn and couldn't keep up with Aiko's needs. He is currently being fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption.

Adopt Aiko and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Aiko's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Aiko's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Aiko, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Aiko's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Aiko was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Aiko’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Aiko’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Aiko’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
