Animal Profile: Chico is an adorable petite happy go lucky boy joining us from our friends on the big island of Hawaii to find his forever. He is an estimated 2-3 year old 23 lb neutered male mixed breed who is social and friendly with everyone and everything including cats; he enjoys car rides, is comfortable with handling and has no resource guarding behaviors. We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Update Chico is a sweet pup who would do best in a home with another confident dog to help him be more confident himself. He takes a moment to warm up in new situations but he is friendly with everyone, just a bit shy. He is crate and potty trained . He is friendly with people and dogs and his sending rescue says he's good with cats, and we will cat test him here to be sure as well. He is the perfect size! He is looking for a family who can give him lots of love and exposure so he can build his confidence and be the best dog he can be -- though he's already pretty darn great! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent visit with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chico was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chico’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Chico’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chico’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
