About this Dog
Azuki is originally from Iowa. He is still a baby by Akita standards (1.5 years), but is also already very intelligent. He knows sit, lay down, roll over, shake, stand ("up" command) and touch (licks your hand), and is working on heel and come. Azuki loves the outdoors, so he would do well with an active owner. He does have a lot of energy, so training classes, outdoor adventures, and/or enrichment games would really make him happy. He LOVES to cuddle, so he needs an owner who will hug him frequently and let him sleep near them. He does talk back sometimes, but is overall a Good Boy and would thrive in an active, affectionate environment. He's silly (he likes to loaf like a cat), opinionated, smart, and loving. Since he is independent, he would do best with an experienced owner, especially one who knows about confident breeds.

How will Azuki receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Azuki, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Azuki's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Azuki was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Azuki’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Azuki’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Azuki’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
