About this Dog
Roscoe is a very well behaved boy in the right environment. He isnt overly needy doesnt require walks, doesnt bark unless an intruder and is very affectionate and understands indoor etiquette.. He is very smart which has led him to become quite the escape artist and You MUST have a fully fenced in property. He currently lives on 5 acres but there is no fencing and he has taken to knocking ACs out of windows, opening doors, opening windows, and knocking freezers down, slipping collars, unclipping his collar from his line, and breaking chains to chase the coyotes and bobcats that border our property. This wouldnt be such a major issue except that when he comes back he often cuts through neighbor's property and gets himself into trouble. He has become extremely male dog aggressive but gets along great with females. He lives with his mom and 2 female golden retrievers, and he lets the golden retrievers beat him up and they are his best friends. He has lived with a very overactive labrador temporarily and had no issues with the dog herself, but became very anxious and started chewing up things in his new home. When he came back to me after 6 months he was limping on his back leg and his new owner had said the limp had never gone away. Once he was back in my care after a week he hasnt limped since (2 years ago), I think the labrador was just too hyper for him to keep up. While he is basically bottom of the totem pole here, there are no exceptions to the male dog rule, and I dont think he would do well with little dogs, although he has never been around a female little dog. He is good on a leash and doesnt pull unless he is reacting to a male dog, so would require a strong hand when on leash. I have covered his face myself when he reacted to a loose male dog while on leash and he calmed down and made no aggression towards me or near me even in reaction. He is good with kids but doesnt appreciate being jumped on. He knows basic commands and is potty trained. He is good with chickens, ducks, geese, but should not be around goats and probably cats, although i think with a proper introduction to goats or other livestock he would be fine, but has never been introduced to them before. He is neutered. Currently he spends most nights on a chain protecting the property and days inside lazying around. This is really hard for me to do and I wish i had an alternative, becuase he is a great dog. But, I am a single mom and I can't keep him contained and cannot get the fencing up he needs and its just a matter of time something happens to him. He deserves a good home that can provide him what he needs to be the amazing dog that he is.

How will Roscoe receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Roscoe, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Roscoe's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Roscoe was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Roscoe’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Roscoe’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Roscoe’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
