About this Dog

Due to the pandemic I could not get my Aussie Shiba puppies to a veterinarian and ended up with more Aussie Shiba puppies. I found homes for many but two, one four and five month old got pregnant and had puppies. One a normal three but the smallest other had 12. I found homes for a few but I have way too many still. They are really good dogs but some need more work. Meet Boyd. He is a little smaller, a lover and wants to cuddle and to be close all the time. I have been working with training him to go on leash and leachless walks. He is not much of a barker. The Aussie Shiba is a medium-sized mixed breed. They have no breed standard, so their coats may be found in a variation of colors from either parent. This mixed breed will frequently inherit Merle or Tricolor patterning from their Aussie parentage, along with a fairly thick coat. They may naturally be born with a short tail; if not, their Shiba Inu heritage may give them a curled tail. The Aussie Shiba is often good-natured and loving with those they know well, but they also can be overprotective or easily startled. It’s crucial to work on socialization from a young age for this breed. Reactivity to people or other dogs will limit them, and they can be quick to perceive others as potential threats. Training them consistently when young will ultimately improve their quality of life (and yours) as an adult. It’s important to work on positive reinforcement training consistently and firmly, The Aussie Shiba is a newer crossbreed composed from two older and long-beloved breeds. Dog parents who need a fun-loving but boundlessly loyal dog should consider this mix. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. These Aussie Shibas are a cross between a Miniature Australian Shepherd and a Shiba Inu. Miniature Australian Shepherds, also known as miniature American Shepherds, are a popular dog breed. They are smaller than full-size Australian Shepherds, weighing between 20–40 pounds and standing 13–18 inches tall at the shoulder. They are known for being smart, loyal, and good-natured, and are often good family dogs. This is a cross between the energetic herding breed known as the Australian Shepherd, or “Aussie,” along with the short in stature but huge in personality Shiba Inu. This breed can make an amazing companion for those with lots of previous dog experience. The Aussie Shiba’s parent breeds come from unique backgrounds. The Australian Shepherd originated as a herding breed. Today, this breed often performs in agility competitions. They most often fit in best with an active family. Known today for its cuteness, Shiba Inus once hunted powerful game like wild boar. This breed also gained popularity through the “Doge” meme. The Aussie Shiba’s status as a crossbreed means that they’re unlikely to be found up for adoption. But because of the pandemic causing a dog surplus that filled shelters they are ready for a good home.

How will Boyd receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Boyd, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Boyd's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Boyd was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Boyd’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Boyd’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Boyd’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
