About this Dog
My name is CHISPITA. My motto: Play hard, sleep hard. Nickname: Baby shark, Sparks. My Birthday: January 2023. Breed: Great Pyrenees Favorite food: I'm not a picky eater and enjoy all puppy appropriate food! My foster mom mixes in a little bit of wet food with my kibble and I really like it. Where do I sleep: I sleep in my crate at night. My foster is mom is usually the one who wakes me up in the morning. I also sometimes nap in my crate, but do bark when I feel my nap should be over. Funny things about me: I will thoroughly chew the smallest of treats before swallowing, and when I'm chasing my favorite foster sibling I make chomping noises. For these two reasons, my foster mom affectionately has nicknamed me baby shark. Favorite toy: My 5 month old foster sister is my favorite toy to play with. When she's not around, I will settle on a rope knot. Favorite place to visit: I love meeting and making new friends while on our local walking trails. I meet everyone(both fur and human) with a wag and a puppy smile! Car rides: I love them because they take me to cool adventure spots. Water: I'm the kind of girl who doesn't just dip my toes in, I'll jump in with all four paws! What I sometimes get in trouble for: I'm a puppy and I am currently teething so I sometimes get in trouble for not using an appropriate toy to sooth my mouth. My foster mom thinks it's best when she can't give me her full attention that I have a smaller area to play where I can't get myself into mischief. My perfect home would be: an active family with a big yard to explore and lots of space to play in and a canine companion to show me the ropes. My manors: I have learned sit and to not jump on new friends when I greet them. I am doing really well with lay down. I'm still learning that not everything is a chew toy and to not jump up on inanimate objects such as counters. Other stuff you should know: I can be quite feisty and am full of puppy exuberance so experienced owners preferred. ADOPT HERE: Complete an Adoption Application for your Pyr-fect new family companion at https://gprs.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6206. PUPPIES ARE ONLY PLACED IN HOMES WITH YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOGS WHO ARE AT LEAST 50 POUNDS. Our requirements for puppy adoptions are simple and necessary. Our puppies are not livestock guardians, they are family pets that live inside of the family home. Puppies must be placed in homes with a youthful, adult resident dog of similar size. This gives the puppy a mentor and a solid foundation for becoming part of the family. Puppies are only adopted to homes with someone at home at least part of the day. If no one is home for 6-8 hours at a time, please do not apply. Preference is always given to those with Great Pyrenees experience. Applicants must have secure, visible fencing and a socialization plan in place. The fastest way to be considered for a puppy is to fill out an application. Adoption is not first come, first served. GPRS and its fosters work diligently to find the right fit for each and every unique dog and puppy. Applicant’s personal pets must be current on vaccines & heartworm/flea prevention and be altered. Adoption fee: $450 (Adoption fee includes spay or neuter, distemper/parvo vaccines, flea preventative, deworming, and health certificate for travel). Adopters located outside of Texas pay the cost of transport to an independent transport service ($200). GPRS has proudly placed thousands of Great Pyrenees and GP mixes in the PNW for over a decade. Our volunteers have over 100 years combined experience fostering, screening, and placing this majestic breed into loving, forever homes. When adopting from us, you can rest assured that we provide life-long support and advice when it comes to your new family member. As always, our purpose is to find the best match for every unique dog that comes through our doors. Taking the time to find the right fit comes first and foremost at the Great Pyrenees Rescue Society. If you are interested in adopting, please take the time, and apply. You will see firsthand how much care, attention and love goes into the process, when you are guided a personal screener. This is why we have people come back again and again for their next family member! Adopt Chispita and Receive Chispita's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Chispita's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Chispita's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Chispita, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Chispita's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chispita was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chispita’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Chispita’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chispita’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
