About this Dog
DANA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Dana Best Guess for Breed: Scruffy terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of June 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 29.4 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! Dana gets along with the cat in her foster home but we always recommend slow introductions. We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are committed to helping them acclimate to a completely new environment. Giving Dana opportunities to interact with other dogs here (doggie playdates, welcoming resident dog in the home, doggie daycare, etc.) will help her so much - they will show her the ropes! About Dana: Dana came to Lucky Dog after being rescued from a hoarding situation in Puerto Rico — pregnant with ELEVEN puppies! Now that her mom duties are done, this gorgeous girl is ready for a forever family to call her own. Loyal, Loving & Low-Maintenance: Dana was nervous at first, but quickly blossomed into a total cuddle bug that's confident exploring the world around her. She loves nothing more than being near her humans and has that ideal energy balance: up for a good walk or hike, but also happy to chill at your feet while you work. (Yes, she will get the zoomies from time to time, and yes, it’s adorable.) Sweet & Well-Mannered: Dana is very food-motivated and eager to please. She already knows “sit” and “lay down,” and her foster says she’s been a model house guest — no accidents in weeks, no inappropriate chewing, and she sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate. Polite with Animal Roommates: Dana coexists peacefully with other dogs, though she prefers the company of people over fellow canines. She’s also been totally respectful of the resident cat — ignoring her entirely. Ready to Be Loved: Dana has been through a lot, but you’d never know it from her affectionate, gentle spirit. She’s the perfect pup for someone looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts hiking buddy and snuggle partner. Interested in meeting Dana? Adopt Dana and Receive Dana's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dana's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Dana's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Dana, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Dana's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dana was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dana’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dana’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dana’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
