About this Dog
HETTIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Hettie Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and collie mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of April 2024 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 53 lbs Gets Along With: Hettie does well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog. She hasn't been seen with cats but can be tested. Because she is shy, she is not recommended for a home with children under the age of 12. Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here. Special adoption considerations: Hettie is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! They are part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study will be placed at random, in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, this pup will be eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. Post treatment, we will work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test 6 months after treatment concludes, followed by a second test at 9 months. Because Hettie is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to her shy personality, we do not recommend her for a home with children under the age of 12. Hettie is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this gorgeous floof ended up in the shelter. She is eager to trot through the world with all the confidence of a well-loved dog but right now she's shy and scared. She needs extra patient and loving adopters who help show her the world at her pace - and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog in all those new places. Training will help her build her braves too! Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list. Regular brushing is as well, to prevent painful mats from forming in the longer parts of her coat. But you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. She has so many adoring gazes, so much love - and loyal companionship - to offer in return. What do you say? Is Hettie the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. Adopt Hettie and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Hettie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Hettie's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Hettie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Hettie's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Hettie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Hettie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Hettie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Hettie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
