NAMATH NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Namath and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (08/03) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)! Name: Namath Best Guess for Breed: Retriever/Labrador mix Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of 8/1/25 SEX: male Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 40lbs as of 7/14/25 Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids yet but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Namath would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Namath is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Namath! Me and my littermates, Wilson, Mahomes, Brady, and Mary J have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once they have spent time with a foster in the DC area. This litter was rescued during Super Bowl weekend. They are incredible pups - intelligent and easily trainable. They love other dogs and people and recently enjoyed a beach nature hike with shelter volunteers. They'll adapt easily into any family! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter and transport from the shelter. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Namath's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Namath was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Namath’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Namath’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Namath’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
