About this Dog
RIGGINS NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!! Name: Riggins Best Guess for Breed: Lab and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of July 2025 SEX: Male Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 35 lbs as of 7/13/25 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Riggins is Looking For: Hi there! I'm Riggins. My brother Roo and I had a great time growing up with our mama Kanga, but now we're ready to split up and go off in search of our own human families. This is what I'm looking for: Play time! Snuggles! More play time! World exploration! I'd also like to go to puppy school so I can show how super smart I am, and make lots of pup pals. But most of all, I want to grow up knowing where I belong, who my family is. I mean, I have so many adoring gazes and tail wags and so much love and loyalty to give, and I need to know who gets all that. Are you the one? What My Foster Says About Me: Riggins loves human attention so much that he doesn't mind being the last of his litter to find a home. He sleeps through the night, is working hard on his potty training, and loves walks and toys. He is dog friendly, curious, and confident—he happily goes up and down stairs and loves to hop over rocks and snuffle in bushes. He's a smart and food-motivated guy; he sits well and is quickly learning to sit and wait when his leash goes on or it's time for dinner. He likes to chew and crunch; this health icon has tried and enjoyed carrot sticks, cucumber, green beans, and bell pepper. He'll be so much fun to train and will reward you with snuggles and looks of adoration. Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Adopt Riggins and Receive Riggins's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Riggins's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Riggins's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Riggins, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Riggins's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Riggins was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Riggins’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Riggins’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Riggins’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
