Currently Living at: DC area home Kirkley is Looking For: Meet Kirkley, a 4-year-old lab mix with a heart as big as his smile! He has that classic lab charm — friendly, affectionate, and always up for being by your side. Whether it’s a walk in the neighborhood, a car ride, or just lounging at home, Kirkley is happiest when he’s part of the action. Kirkley would thrive in a home where he gets daily exercise, lots of love, and a soft place to rest his head. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to join your family, Kirkley might just be your perfect match. Come meet this handsome guy — he’s ready to be your best friend! What My Foster Says About Me: Kirkley is a sweet, joyful dog who loves hugs and cuddles! He's also extremely well-behaved and quiet. He's great with other dogs he meets on walks, with our 13-year old, and even with our multiple cats! He loves his walks but otherwise is very laid back and just wants to hang around his people. Kirkley would love a family where someone can be home with him most of the day. Heartworm information: Kirkley is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. He has completed the treatment and activity restriction phase, and is awaiting his six month follow-up test. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. Adopt Kirkley and Receive Kirkley's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Kirkley's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Kirkley's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Kirkley, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Kirkley's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kirkley was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kirkley’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Kirkley’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Kirkley’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
