LEROY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Leroy Best Guess for Breed: Lab and poodle mix Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of June 2025 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 38 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Check out this video of Leroy: https://youtube.com/shorts/IG8q5ZJnF2g, https://youtube.com/shorts/sUtls0nsRZs, https://youtube.com/shorts/QrSR1mtxg80, https://youtube.com/shorts/ZLM2eGWCoWQ, https://youtube.com/shorts/s0SJ4J2iing, https://youtube.com/shorts/WI8AWn4Q_S4Special adoption considerations: This dog was rescued from a breeding operation that is shutting its doors. He has not been well socialized with new people and has lived his whole life with other dogs. New nosies, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety. He will need a patient adopter who can give him time to come out of their shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place. And because he is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show him the ropes. Leroy is Looking For: His forever home, filled with snuggles and opportunities to see the world outside of a kennel. One where he is a cherished part of a family. He's very sweet, shy, and SO ready to be a Real Dog. Extra patient and loving humans who introduce him to new places and people at his pace and a welcoming resident dog who will show him how to dog are high on his wish list! Along with quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and endless snuggles. And one more thing: That type of coat is high maintenance. It needs daily brushing and professional grooming. Mats hurt. You know what you get out of adopting a dog like that? An incredibly sweet, grateful dog who gives you all those adoring gazes, all the love and loyalty in his body, for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one for you? Are you his new chapter and forever home? What My Foster Says About Me: This sweet boy is a quiet, gentle soul who is still learning that the world is a safe place. He’s been a very easy house guest—no accidents in the house and doing all his business outside like a champ! He walks nicely on leash and has just started to explore the yard a bit more, which is a big step for him. Right now, his crate is his safe space, and he prefers to spend most of his time there, but we’re working slowly and patiently on building trust. He’s definitely on the shy and timid side, but with time, consistency, and a calm environment, we’re hopeful he’ll continue to come out of his shell. He has a gentle heart and just needs someone willing to go slow and let him blossom. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adopt Leroy and Receive Leroy's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Leroy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Leroy's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Leroy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Leroy's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Leroy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Leroy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Leroy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Leroy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
