CYRUS NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Cyrus and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (07/27) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Cyrus Best Guess for Breed: Lab and Basset Hound mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 36 lbs - could lose a few pounds Gets Along With: Has lived with other dogs and cats. We haven't seen him with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Cyrus is Looking For: Say hello to Cyrus, the ultimate lowrider lovebug! This unique boy is a Lab/Basset Hound mix, which means he’s got the best of both worlds — the sweet, loyal nature of a Lab paired with the charming, squatty stature of a Basset. With his gray and white coat, soulful eyes, and short little legs, Cyrus is a total showstopper wherever he goes. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind pup , Cyrus is your guy. Don’t miss your chance to add this lovable lowrider to your family! What My Foster Says About Me: This little man is joy embodied. Not only does he show his own pleasure in everything, but a glimpse of him makes everyone smile. Cyrus has two speeds: sniffy walk and napping. Get your good walking shoes out for this guy! Cyrus' legs may be short, but they are not slow. So far, Cyrus has never taken a long enough walk. Even when it's hot out he just wants more, more walk. Needless to say, he does well on the leash. Cyrus is also eager to say hi to other dogs on his walks. He is a very calm guy, but let's it all hangout when he is excited. I find his tail-wagging-butt-wiggle to be infectious. Almost anything can earn a butt wiggle: standing up, putting on socks, passing the kitchen. Definitely opening the door to go out. Cyrus doesn't seem to know many commands, but naturally sits for the leash. He responds to "no", but doesn't need it very often. Cyrus is living with a cat, and is respectful of the cat's space. This curious guy will be great in any home, but could be especially good for first-time dog adopters. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cyrus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cyrus’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cyrus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cyrus’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
