DELLY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Delly Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and min pin mix Best Guess for Age: 2.5 months as of 7/24/25 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 10.4 lbs as of 7/28/25 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. What My Foster Says About Me: "The first thing I noticed about Delly was how loving and joyful she is - how trusting she was of me, how confident she was from the first minute. She demanded snuggles the moment she came out of her travel crate, then ran to meet my dogs (mine are 8 lbs and 19 lbs). The second thing I noticed was how smart she was. She was attuned to me, watching me, sitting politely when I was preparing the dogs' food. I'm her second foster - I asked her first foster about the sitting, and this is what she told me: 'I noticed it the morning after we brought her home. She is very observant and learns quickly. She started doing the sitting when she learned where I prepared her food. She would sit and wait for me to put her bowl down. After that morning, that's how she told me when she was hungry in-between her breakfast lunch and supper meals. If I was near the kitchen she would go sit in her spot and id know she was hungry for a snack.' Yep. I noticed it too. She's such a smart cookie. Delly is definitely an all-around wonderful pup. She's happy, loving, playful and energetic. She loves playing with my dogs, and also loves playing with stuffies by herself - she entertains herself very well. She's going to be fun to train. I can see how she will grow up to be a wonderful companion - she will be such a great buddy for all those adventures in life! Her forever family and she will be very lucky to have each other." Delly is Looking For: Hiya! I'm Delly! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am.What do you say? Do I get to grow up with you? Puppy Vetting Requirements: Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog. Due to this puppy’s young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than November 9, 2025. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low cost partner vets. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Delly was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Delly’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Delly’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Delly’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
