DOLLY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Dolly and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (07/27) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Dolly Best Guess for Breed: Poodle mix Best Guess for Age: 4 years as of June 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 30 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs and cats! We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Check out this video of Dolly: https://youtube.com/shorts/sUtls0nsRZs.Special adoption considerations: This dog was rescued from a breeding operation that is shutting its doors. She has not been well socialized with new people and has lived her whole life with other dogs. New nosies, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety. She will need a patient adopter who can give her time to come out of their shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place. And because she is shy, Dolly must go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. Dolly is Looking For: Her forever home, filled with snuggles and opportunities to see the world outside of a kennel. One where she is a cherished part of a family. She's very sweet, shy, and SO ready to be a Real Dog. Extra patient and loving humans who introduce her to new places and people at her pace and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog are high on her wish list! Along with quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and endless snuggles. And one more thing: That type of coat is high maintenance. It needs daily brushing and professional grooming. Mats hurt. You know what you get out of adopting a dog like that? An incredibly sweet and grateful dog who gives you all those adoring gazes, all the love and loyalty in her body, for all her days. What do you say? Is she the one for you? Are you her new chapter and forever home? What My Foster Says About Me: Dolly is slowly making progress and now acts excited when we come into the room. She loves following our dog around; with the cats she will take a quick sniff but then ignore them. She remains very shy and scared, but at the same time is very sweet. Dolly wants affection and has started to sit and asks for pets. 7/15 update: Dolly is doing really well and getting better day by day. She loves to run in the yard and play with my puppies. She is very adaptable as long as she feels safe and has a predictable routine. She would do well in a quiet house with another dog. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog . Adopt Dolly and Receive Dolly's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dolly's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Dolly's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Dolly, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Dolly's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dolly was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dolly’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dolly’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dolly’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
