This sweetie is a young boy and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. He's eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved. In exchange he promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags he's storing up, and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is Matteo the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:Matteo is an extremely loving and affectionate dog who is curious about the world. He absolutely adores his Foster Mom and is like a shadow, by her side at all times in the house. He has had no accidents in the house, and his foster family is currently working on crate training. He loves to explore and meet new people. He walks loosely on a leash until he is excited and wants to approach another dog or person. He will do just about anything for food and already knows how to sit on command and is learning shake and lay down as well. He absolutely loves long car rides and looking out the window while smelling all the smells. Heartworm information: Matteo was heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Matteo has completed the treatment and activity restriction phase, and is awaiting his six month follow up test. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. Adopt Matteo and Receive Matteo's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Matteo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Matteo's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Matteo, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Matteo's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Matteo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Matteo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Matteo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Matteo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
