About this Dog
FREEDOM NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Freedom and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (May 12th) from 12-3 pm at the PETSMART in ROCKVILLE (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)! Name: Freedom Best Guess for Breed: Pointer and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of April 2024 SEX: Female Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!): 14.6 lbs as of 4/20/24 Gets Along With: Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy. Freedom is Looking For: Her forever home! Freedom may not be a tiny squishy puppy any longer but she's still essentially an older baby who hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet and is eagerly looking forward to doing so with her new humans. In her new chapter, she envisions long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures her family can dream up. She wants to make new pup and people pals along the way. Exploring all the toys to see what she likes best, quality kibble, and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well. Freedom is going to be a pretty terrific size when she's full grown - perfect for lap cuddling yet big enough to traverse various types of terrain. What do you say? Does she get to do both with you? What My Foster Says About Me: Freedom was timid when we first met her but she has come out of her shell so quickly. It has been heartwarming to watch her gain so much confidence. It took one day for her to learn that the back corner of the backyard is the potty area and she goes right out, does her business, and then charges back up the steps of our deck like she belongs inside with the family. :) She likes a schedule and she is obviously a quick learner -- one accident total since we got her. She is very playful with my little 8 lb dogs, but able to recognize the size difference and so gentle with them. She will pounce toward them and chase, or ask to be chased, but never pounces on them. Freedom's favorite game is fetch. Sometimes we play with just her, but her favorite is when she plays with another dog. She watches as another pup gets the toy, then chases the dog until she manages to get the toy, and then brings it back to me. Repeat. Freedom is still working on getting the hang of walking on a leash. We are practicing short walks with lots of high value treats and it is going much better! There's progress every day. Indoors, Freedom is a natural-born snuggler. She absolutely loves a lap and if she can't be on one, she tries to rest a head or her back against someone. She just loves contact with people. They truly don't come any sweeter than this girl! Our kids are older (12 and up), but she is extremely gentle with everyone. I think she would be fine with a family with young kids or with older people. She is a surprisingly calm and very easy puppy. Freedom is such a happy puppy now. Yesterday evening, when we took her out for one last potty break before bed, she ran around the yard in big circles doing hops and twists in the air. It was such a joyful puppy romp -- it made me cry. Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog! TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. Adopt Freedom and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Freedom's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Freedom's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Freedom, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Freedom's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Freedom was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Freedom’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.

We want the Freedom’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Freedom’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
