About this Dog
BUCK NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Buck and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (June 2nd) from 12-3 pm at the PETSMART in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)! Name: Buck Best Guess for Breed: Collie and shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of Jan 2024 SEX: male Approximate Weight: 57lbs as of Feb 2024 Gets Along With: Other dogs! We think Buck would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure Buck has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build confidence. We have not seen Buck with kids but he can be tested! We have tested Buck with some of the cats at our adoption event, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Buck could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Buck is a truly Lucky Dog! He tested positive for Heartworm disease but has already been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the adoption counseling process. Buck is Looking For: Some snuggles with his new best friend! Buck is a very sweet and handsome boy who is currently living at a shelter. He has a very soft, silky coat and the most adorable puppy face ever - he may be young but he's just a little baby!!! Buck is looking to start his new life in the DC area and can't wait to explore his new home with you. He is looking forward to plenty of walks, playing with new toys, and cuddling up on the couch for some movies! He is just past his youngest puppy days, but he still has plenty of energy for whatever adventures you want to take him on. Could this little love bug be the newest member of your family? What My Foster Says About Me: Buck is a really sweet and great dog. He loves playing with other dogs and is getting more friendly with people. He can be a little shy at first but is learning to quickly open up to his surroundings. He's opening up at home and is very sweet and affectionate! Buck is also a great passenger for car rides! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. Adopt Buck and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Buck's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Buck's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Buck, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Buck's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buck was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buck’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Buck’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buck’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
