About this Cat
AUSSIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME! Come meet Aussie and other great adoptable cats this Sunday (06/29) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Falls Church, (6100 - A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)! Name: Aussie Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Age: 3 months as of 7/4 Estimated DOB: 4/4/25 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 11 oz Coloring: Gray Tabby Type of Hair: Short Gets Along With: Because of her young age, Aussie will likely get along with other cats, dogs and kids with an acclimation period. We’re happy to help with tips and tricks! Special Consideration: This kitten has an initial positive FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test result. However, it's important to note that FIV antibodies can be passed from the mother to her kittens, which may cause a false positive on early tests. As a result, some kittens who initially test positive may later test negative once the mother's antibodies have cleared from their system, typically by six months of age. In the meantime, this kitten can safely live with other FIV positive cats, and the risk of transmission to non-FIV cats is extremely low—especially in calm, indoor environments where cats are not aggressive and do not engage in serious fighting or biting. With regular veterinary care and monitoring, this kitten has the potential to live a long, healthy, and happy life. Currently Living at: Foster in the DC area I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Aussie and I am a cute little kitten! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be my kitten self. Two kittens are better than one - consider adopting my super cute siblings, too! What my Foster Says About Me: Aussie is a very feisty and playful kitten who loves to run and wrestle. She has no fear of our dogs (although they are both only 12 pounds). She enjoys chasing toys and will even play fetch with her fussy ball toys! Aussie is the perfect mix of affectionate and independent. She loves curling up in your lap, playing on her back until she gently drifts off to sleep. With her sweet nature and incredibly soft, silky coat, he’s impossible not to fall in love with. Aussie is looking for a loving home where she can share his playful spirit and gentle cuddles. Kitten Vetting Requirements: Your kitten may not be fully vaccinated upon adoption. You will be responsible for providing whatever remaining vaccines are needed to complete the kitten vaccine series. Due to this kitten's young age, she/he has not yet been spayed or neutered. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 10/4/25. There are NO EXCEPTIONS and NO EXTENSIONS to this date. A non-refundable spay/neuter deposit will be collected if you would like Lucky Dog to pay for this animal to be spayed/neutered at one of our low-cost partner vets. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for adult cats is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together). Adopt Aussie and Receive Aussie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Aussie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Aussie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Aussie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Aussie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Aussie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Aussie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Aussie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Aussie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
