About this Dog
This is Shemah, a sweet and soulful pup who deserves so much more than the life she’s been given so far. She’s currently in a difficult and neglectful situation, and I am hoping to rehome her into a safe, nurturing environment where she can finally experience the love, care, and freedom every dog deserves. About Shemah: Breed: Likely a Pit Bull mix Age: approximately 2-3 years old in human years. Personality: Gentle, loyal, observant, and affectionate, energetic. Health: No known health issues. Up to date on vaccines but she is not sprayed nor neutered. She is still getting used to other dogs therefore, puppies won't be much of a concern. Training: She hasn’t had much formal training but is very smart and has great potential with patience and love. She knows recall, her name, sit, and she is potty trained! Important: Due to a lack of proper socialization, Shemah does not do well with other dogs and will need to be the only dog in the home or if you do have any dogs, she would need to be with a calm, older, or matured dog to help her acclimate. She does fine with children but may need some correcting when she gets excited/playful (she gets the zoomies or wants to jump up and play with you). She thrives best in a calm, structured environment where she can bond closely with her people and feel safe. Shemah has spent most of her life confined to a small cage, only being let out briefly each day. Despite this, she has a heart full of love and a gentle soul that’s just waiting to blossom in the right home. Price asked for: $400, up for negotiation! HIGHLY IMPORTANT NOTICE: Full transparency, me and my partner are trying to find a home as soon as possible for her. Shemah is currently being physically abused & neglected. I would love to take her if I could but I am not in a position to do so. The only way her owner agreed to give her away was to list a price. Due to the urgency of the situation, I decided to do so. Shemah was confined to a small metal cage for her whole life, the same cage she's had since she was a puppy. I ask that her living situation at your home not include any usage of a cage for any reason and no physical discipline i.e. hitting, punching, shock collars, ect. Shemah does fine around the house but still needs to be watched here and there like a regular dog ofc. We are hoping for a single person home, couples, or loving families to adopt please! Regarding that, I will not subject shemah to another household where she will go through the same thing. If you were for any reason unable to keep shemah/need to rehome her, let me know immediately. I will find another safe home for her! Shemah Needs a Home Where: - She is the only dog OR has calm, gentle, older companions. - She has space to move and feel free - She is treated with patience, consistency, and love - Her physical and emotional needs are met daily We're located in Woodbridge, VA but are open to adoptions in any part of the DMV. Please help me give Shemah the second chance she so deeply deserves. If you or someone you trust can provide a safe, loving forever home, pleasee message me seach out today.

Adopt Shemah and Receive Shemah's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Shemah's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$10 is Shemah's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Shemah, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Shemah's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Shemah was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Shemah’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Shemah’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Shemah’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
