Dog adoption in Wirtz, VA, 24184 Pitbull mix Dog "Pinky"

Pinky was a stray that showed up at my home, filthy and malnourished. Due to his state, I took him in, bathed him, fed him, and loved him. Not wanting to take someone's dog, I took him to the Franklin County shelter for a stray hold but no one came for 2 weeks. I took him into my home with my three other dogs and for a few weeks, things were good but my two male dogs (still intact) held a tenuous relationship with Pinky that I had been keeping an eye on. I work from home, so I spent time trying to help Pinky acclimate and have the other dogs do the same. Pinky had come to get along with my female dog, Zara and this gave me hope that the others would come around. The one day that I left for a dentist appt, my larger male dog, Dingo Dango got into a fight with Pinky and my fiancé broke it up but was bit by Pinky. Pinky let go and did not continue his assault but instead allowed her to put him in another room. The bite required medical attention but was not unprovoked. It was enough for animal control to take him and file for dangerous dog charges. We went to court and fought these charges but one of the requirements to remove the dangerous dog charge is that he must have professional behavioral rehabilitation training due to his lack of socialization and isolation from his initial owners. We have won in court and have successful beaten the dangerous dog charges, but the behavioral rehab training is $4,275.00 with the good folks of Ridgeside K9 Charlottesville. We have successfully fundraised the first two payments of $1,282.50 and $1,496.25, thanks to the help of Justice for Max and the good people that support that page. We are have completed the training on 9/3 and need help finding him a home. I have reached out to rescues, sanctuaries, several friends and families but I have no luck.
