About this Dog
Callie is a very sweet girl, and we are just beginning to know her better. She is very reserved at first until she warms up to you. She is starting to play more and she loves to cuddle. She is very gentle taking treats and has not shown any food aggression. We suspect she may have been abused because she will cry and lay down if you try to lead her by her collar. She is also very fearful of thunder storms. Callie can be destructive when left alone for long periods, and needs to be securely kenneled or crated. She is a very smart girl and has figure out how to open the door! Callie appears to get along well with other dogs, and has not shown any signs of aggression. She has been cat tested and had no reaction to the cat, even after the cat swatted her. Callie was noticed by SSR at a high kill shelter in Texas. We asked them to do a "dog test" with another dog and they used Callie. SSR couldn't just leave her there, so into the rescue she came. She arrived to her foster in Virginia on June 20th.
