About this Dog
RICO - 12 years old, 50 pounds, house trained, dog tolerant but does not like to be messed with, no cat home, older children or adult home, good on leash. Poor senior Rico has seen the revolving doors of shelter life. This senior boy deserves a FOREVER home for the rest of his life. We are so sad to see him back in shelter due to his owner moving. Can you be Rico's angel that will bring him home and make him comfortable for the rest of his days? He is already quite stressed being back in shelter. We need to get him out ASAP! Rico is an older boy who lost his home, his family, his whole world when a new puppy was introduced into the home. Rico was not a fan of the new puppy and so he was surrendered. We are looking for a quiet, calm, easy going home for Rico to settle in for his senior years. He is good on the leash and was even in our playgroup where we saw him allow other dogs to sniff him but anything too close for comfort, he let the other dog know in no uncertain terms, he was not comfortable. Rico is a friendly boy who also has a chicken allergy which you should be aware of. Rico would love a home where he is the one and only pet in the home. He loves people and is a big snuggler. He also really enjoys sunbathing and playing outside. He has shown signs of separation issues in a previous home, so it would be best if he was crated while left alone. VBACAC is located at 341 S Birdneck Road in Virginia Beach and open daily 12-5 pm .
