About this Cat
Hello, I have an adult female cat of unspecified age who was a stray that got pregnant while on my property last November. I kept her safe and fed and warm throughout her pregnancy, the four kittens were raised inside with her until they found homes, and now I really need her to get into a forever home. She doesn't get along with other cats right now, but she's friendly and loves pets and getting brushed (she's a long haired tortie). I'm keeping her separated from the intact male outside (he's not mine) and my other 4 cats by having her live in a large bathroom (12×20) off my bedroom. This isn't any way for her to live long term, and my wife wants the bathroom back. What started out as me wanting to do the "right" thing has turned into now I am stuck with a cat I can't take proper care of. She's had an advertisement on petfinder and Craigslist for months now. She had her babies in February, and they all got homes. I don't know where to turn, I can't stand thinking she'll be put down. Please help! Anyway, I am desperate to get her somewhere she'll have a chance ASAP.
Thank you,
Chris

Adopt Shade and Receive Shade's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Shade's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Shade receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Shade, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Shade's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Shade was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Shade’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Shade’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Shade’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
