About this Dog
Sterling – A Southern Gentleman with a Splash of Charm Sterling is soaking up summer the best way he knows how—with a quick dip in the pool before the heat kicks in! ☀️ This boy knows how to enjoy the good things in life. More than anything, Sterling lives for companionship. He came into the shelter three months ago with another dog, and it’s clear that being around other pups gives him a sense of comfort and joy. He’s got excellent social skills, knows how to play fair, and really shines when he’s with a buddy. Watching him navigate different dog personalities is like watching a social pro at work—give and take, all in good fun. He’s a great size, has gorgeous markings, and honestly looks like he walked right out of a Hunt Club calendar. **Sterling is heartworm positive, and is being treated for that disease while he is at the shelter. Some dogs don’t get the option of being treated, so we are glad that we are able to do this for Sterling. He would thrive in a foster home willing to give him the time and space to have quiet healing for two months. But, in our eyes, Sterling is perfect. Please consider adopting Sterling. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org for an adoption application. NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at [email protected]. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Sterling: At the shelter, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Sterling: At the shelter's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sterling: At the shelter was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sterling: At the shelter’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Sterling: At the shelter’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sterling: At the shelter’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
