About this Dog
Eli, adopted two months ago as Dobby, came back to us yesterday looking for a new home. His adopter realized that her home was not the best fit for him, and for Eli to fully grow and reach his potential, she realized he needed a different home. we always appreciate it when adopters realize it’s not the best fit, and for the dog’s sake, ask for assistance with rehoming. Eli would love to have a canine buddy to show him the ropes, to be his mentor, and to help him learn about playtime in the yard! He is absolutely terrified when he is around men, and we feel that horrible things probably happened to him in the four years before he ever arrived at the shelter before his first adoption. A raised voice, stomping foot, clapping hands, all are very scary for him. He will do best in a home where there are not loud children, because he needs consistency, continuity, and lots of patient love. His adopter tells us he really loves his crate and feels very safe in it. That’s an important thing to note, as that will help him make a transition to a new home more easily. He will be available for adoption, but we want to make sure we give him plenty of transition time, and fosters are asked to keep their dogs for at least two weeks before placements PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at [email protected]. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.
