About this Cat
Update: good news from the Vet office is that Anita’s congestion is clearing up and it appears she does not have any permanent damage. We are continuing her medication until it’s gone, and can’t wait to have her feeling better than ever! ***Anita was brought to us after being found in a mobile home park, wearing no identification and not microchipped. We were not aware that Anita was a senior until our visit to a nearby clinic to get her a rabies shot. At that time we were surprised to discover she is actually probably closer to 10 years old than the three years old we originally guessed. Sadly, we also discovered that Anita has congestion in her lungs and an x-ray revealed a blockage of some sort. We are treating her now with antibiotics to see if this is a simple case of bronchitis, or to see if it is something more severe, such as a mass that no one knew about earlier. Anita is the sweetest cat and has been very accepting of everything we’ve done to her. We will try to find out more about her, but in the meantime, if you need a companion who wants to tell you stories, consider meeting an adopting Anita! She is very chatty and always has an opinion! Anita is at the shelter, waiting for someone to choose her to be their Fireside companion! PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. We want the Anita: At shelter’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Anita: At shelter’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
