About this Dog
Shadow is about 2 years old, neutered, housetrained, current on healthcare, microchipped, crate trained and cute as a button. At only 35 pounds, he loves to lay on your lap for a little while in the evening and he’s the perfect size for it. He knows sit, paw, down (lay down) and is extremely well behaved in the house. Will jump on and sleep on the sofa. Shadow is GREAT with other dogs and lives with two female canines in his foster home. He also lived with other dogs in his previous home. (Three dogs from this household were surrendered to the shelter due to housing problems, which is a common theme these days.) But, Shadow’s main focus will be YOU. He loves human attention and will cover your face with kisses. Always so eager to please, he hates when you must leave him. For this reason, we recommend a very sturdy crate, such as the one shown in the photos. He has destroyed the latches on lesser crates. Shadow eats his meals in his crate, gets a peanut butter Kong in there every afternoon, and sleeps in the crate through the night, where you will not hear a peep out of him. In the morning, he will wait patiently to be let out. He is not a very “barky” dog, but he will let you know when a visitor arrives or a strange animal is in the vicinity. He loves to ride in the car and does not get carsick. He will jump right in the car and we use a harness and seatbelt for his safety. A fenced yard is preferred.
