Beautiful, submissive to humans, retiring from her duties as a breeder who failed to ever produce pups—we have little knowledge of Elka’s past, so are moving forward with her story, so she can find the best life possible! She loves her companion Finn, and he relies on her for cues for behavior and exploring new smells and places. We know that Elka is a people-lover, open to handling, and she throws herself on her back when approached for attention. Her submissive attitude ends there, however, and she is pushy and bossy with the dogs she meets. we would not recommend her for a home where there are female dogs, as she has not tested well with females. Male dogs seem to be her thing as long as they don’t care if she is the boss. She probably would be absolutely fine as the only dog in the home. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

After we have verified the adoption, Elka: Not at shelter (Carisa)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Elka: Not at shelter (Carisa)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Elka: Not at shelter (Carisa)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
