About this Dog
Meet Kira. Kira was rescued with her mom and siblings from a heartbreaking scenario in Chester, SC. Their owner, grappling with the loss of her husband to deportation and facing severe flooding on her property due to excessive rain, found herself unable to care for her pets. Sadly, the dogs were being kept outside in a pen that became submerged in water and debris, The owner called Animal Control for help and 9 dogs were removed from the property. With local shelters already overwhelmed, multiple rescues stepped up to help and Worthy Dog took Kira and her sister, Erin, into our care. Both pups have settled into their foster homes where they are experiencing the comforts of home for the first time. From cozy beds and nourishing meals to daily walks and human companionship, these girls are fully embracing home life. The pups are only about 7-8 months old and adapt quickly. They have learned new skills like navigating stairs, mastering crate and house training, and reveling in the delights of toys — simple pleasures they had never experienced before. Kira is being fostered in a home with a foster mom and dad, and multiple dogs, both small and large. She’s done well with all and would LOVE a playmate in her new home. Her foster family has been working on crate training, housetraining, and leash skills and she learns quickly. We checked in with her foster mom, Jenn, for an update. FOSTER MOM UDPATE: 3/15/24 “Kira is a spunky, cute, and affectionate girl who is friendly with all. Her face always has a permanent smile and her tail is always wagging. She is a medium-energy dog who loves to do zoomies in the yard and play with toys, but will also cuddle up on a bed, blanket, or your lap for nap time. Just watching her makes you smile because she seems so happy with life. She enjoys the outdoors and has a passion for sticks. She sleeps in a pen with her foster brother, Biscuit, and has had no accidents in the pen. She is doing well with potty training and has only had a few accidents here and there. I have left her loose in the house during the day for up to an hour so far with nothing destroyed. Inside, the only things she seems drawn to outside of her toys are socks and slippers. Kira will engage with our dogs and wants to play but is respectful of them if they just want to walk around. She does well on leash and we have started walking every day to get her comfortable. She doesn’t love the car and may pant after a longer drive, but she’s calm in the car. and just needs more exposure. Adopt Kira and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Kira's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Kira's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Kira, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Kira's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kira was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kira’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
