About this Cat
Pandora's Personality Pandora acts more like a puppy than a kitten! When she sees you, she plops down on the ground and rolls around to express her joy. She also wags her tail slowly from side to side like a dog. But the minute she sees you, you know she's a kitten because she purrs nonstop. And Pandora is also quite talkative...she greets you with a range of meows and then engages in conversation. Pandora is a special kitty who has defied the odds! We named her Pandora because when she was rescued all of the hardships she had endured were released (her Pandora’s Box was opened) so only good things would come her way in the future. When arriving in our care, Pandora was very sweet, but also very shy. She was suffering from a badly infected eye that was subsequently surgically removed. It didn’t, however, take her long to realize that she was safe in our care. Pandora has come out of her shell with her foster parents and has blossomed into a sweet, loving and playful girl. She may be a little shy with new people at first, but give her a little time and she will be your loyal companion. Pandora is very affectionate...she loves being petted and curling up next to you, sometimes in your lap, and sleeps by your side at night. She is also very playful - easily entertained by interactive play as well as initiating play on her own with toy mice and balls. She loves to bat them around then chase them. She also goes wild when offered a toy filled with catnip. What Type of Home Pandora Needs Pandora needs a relatively quiet home with a caretaker who will slowly introduce her to new people and new things. And while she may be a tad bit shy at first, she is very curious and enjoys exploring new places. She has not been introduced to children, but would do fine with an older cat-savvy child (perhaps 12 yrs or older). So far, Pandora has given us mixed signals on how she would do with another cat. We know she thrives on human affection so having people around her is really what she needs most. Where Pandora Came From This sweet girl was living outside a home with several stray cats. The caretaker did his best to feed these cats, but was not able to provide any vet care. Luckily Pandora, along with her mother and a subsequent litter, and another mom cat with newborn kittens were discovered by a kind woman who does rescue in Southwestern Virginia. With few resources to help cats in this part of Virginia, they were transferred to SPCA NOVA.

Adopt Pandora and Receive Pandora's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Pandora's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Pandora's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Pandora, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Pandora's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Pandora was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Pandora’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Pandora’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Pandora’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
