About this Dog
Meet Juniper ("Junie") Sweet, spirited, and smart as a whip, Juniper is a 2-year-old mixed breed with a heart full of love and a brain that might just train you if you’re not careful. At about 40 lbs, she’s the perfect petite adventure buddy (though don’t let those photos fool you...she looks bigger in pictures!). And we can't forget her adorable little bobtail - it only adds to her charm and makes her happy wiggles even more endearing. After a rough start in life, living as a stray and caring for her two pups, Tazzy and Bailey, Junie landed in a southern shelter in desperate need of help. She was severely underweight, heartworm positive, and clearly had gone without care or comfort for far too long. Thanks to an amazing rescue team, Junie received the medical treatment she needed, was spayed, and has made an amazing recovery. Now that her pups have found loving homes, it’s finally Juniper’s turn. What’s Juniper like? Juniper is a true survivor: resourceful, resilient, curious, and always thinking one step ahead. Junie thrives on mental stimulation and would love a home where she can keep learning and exploring. She's food motivated (read: very trainable!) and has already shown she enjoys working with humans, whether it's practicing obedience or solving treat puzzles. She's also been dabbling in frisbee. Maybe her next trick will be catching one mid-air! Juniper would be an awesome match for someone active who enjoys hiking, running, or even agility sports. She’s naturally alert and makes a great little watchdog, keeping an eye on everything around her. But don’t be fooled by her smarts and energy, Junie has a soft, affectionate side too. It’s clear she didn’t get much love in her early life, but she's learning that belly rubs, ear scratches, and quiet cuddle time are pretty great. Other things to know: Dog-friendly: She’s done well around other tolerant dogs. She would be best suited with a well balanced, playful dog that can help her learn the proper way to socialize. No cats, please: Junie’s prey drive is a bit too strong for feline friends. Fenced yard: Strongly encouraged so she can safely zoom and explore. Bonus points if you love teaching tricks or going on outdoor adventures! We're still learning more about Junie as she settles into her Vermont foster home, but one thing’s for sure: this girl is ready to leave her tough past behind and finally find the loving, active forever home she deserves. Stay tuned for more updates.

Adopt Juniper and Receive Juniper's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Juniper's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Juniper's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Juniper, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Juniper's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Juniper was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Juniper’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Juniper’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Juniper’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
