About this Dog
This sweet pup has an estimated date of birth of 07/07/23 and weighs about 15 lbs. He is happy, curious and playful. He arrived in VT on January 13 and is unwinding in one of our amazing foster homes. This is an update from Arlo’s foster mom. Arlo has learned to: Sit and wait to have his leash put on Give eye contact on cue Fetch! Run fast around the yard picking up sticks Follow the leader around the yard and to come running when called (we are FAR from recall though and he's always on a long line even in the fenced in yard because sometimes he's too distracted by smells and sounds) Arlo is still working on: Sitting on cue or when he wants something Peeing outside (he doesn't quite ask to go outside yet but he pees immediately and every time we take him outside). He is close and understanding more each day Arlo is good with: Being touched and handled all over his body-including having his nails trimmed and being picked up Not jumping on people Giving nice soft eye contact Engaging with people once he's had a 10-15 min to observe them and make his own approach Being redirected when he's doing something/is into something he shouldn't (though if he's really into it, he may need repeated redirections but takes them well) Sleeping in his crate all night without any fussing Being left in the crate for short periods of time when we're in the house and once when I left him for 20 min to run an errand Not using his mouth on hands and clothes when he gets excited or frustrated. To be clear, Arlo is not biting. Dogs explore and learn about the world using their mouths. His foster mom is working on this. It’s common. Pooping outside Chewing on bones and relaxing Once he's comfortable and acclimated (which is pretty quick), he's really curious and enjoys exploring. Arlo’s ideal home includes someone who has carefully puppy proofed and can supervise him as he'll readily chew just about anything as most puppies do. He also has a knack for finding holes in fencing and will test gates. Being prepared before bringing him home is important. Arlo has a bit of an independent streak so he's not the type of pup that will keep you in sight or stick to you like glue if you're outside. A secure leash/harness will be a must. He's really smart and has enjoys playing with his toys, other dogs, and people. He has not been tested with cats yet. Once he's tired, he's an absolute cuddle bug who likes to sleep in your lap or right next to you. He's definitely a people dog and he likes to be active and do things. We do not provide DNA testing which is the only way to know with certainty which breeds are in his genetic background. We believe he could be a Hound mix. We can't guarantee size at maturity, but believe he will be a medium size dog, around 40 pounds. We highly recommend training classes for all of our dogs to get everyone off to a great start. Training recommendations are available. - Housebroken - Crate trained - Curious - Loves to explore outdoors - Enjoys playing with other dogs - Working on leash skills - Up-to-date on vaccines - Already Neutered - Heartworm negative and taking monthly prevention Our adoption fee is $400 which includes age appropriate vaccines (such as Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, Rabies), neutering, worming, micro-chipping, and health exam. Discount vouchers for training, grooming and similar dog related products and services are provided.

Adopt Arlo and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Arlo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Arlo's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Arlo, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Arlo's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Arlo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Arlo’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Arlo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Arlo’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
