Adopt River! This 6ish-year-old guy wants nothing more than to be snuggled by his people and give hugs. He has the best smile and is an absolutely delightful companion and the best work-from-home buddy. River will snooze at your feet during meetings, waking up occasionally to place his paw on your leg to check in. River would love a big backyard to run around in and then relax in the sun - he'll spend hours out there enjoying the fresh air, if you'll let him! River loves to chew on bones and squeaky toys and watch the world outside the front window. He enjoys the companionship of other dogs, but is not super playful with them. (Though he does enjoy a good game of a chase in the yard!) River also isn't a big fan of new people inside his home. So if you're a bit of an introvert, too, and prefer to do your socializing outside the house, then River is the pup for you! And the good news is that he's perfectly happy to hang out quietly in his crate on the occasions you do have company. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, River's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and River was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, River’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the River’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, River’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
