About this Dog

This is our sweet rescue pup, Ruby and we are looking for her forever home. Ruby is about 3 years old and was born in a puppy mill. When her original owner decided she couldn't be used for breeding or hunting, he locked her in a small pen with several aggressive dogs that attacked her constantly and she was fed less than half a cup of food a day. At the time of her rescue, she was so malnourished we could easily count her ribs and almost every bone in her body and we were asked to help find her a new home. Because of her rough start in life, Ruby requires additional care and attention. Ruby has difficulty socializing with dogs larger than her or close to her size as she can get scared and nervous easily. She has a difficult time understanding play and this has led to her starting several fights and snapping at other dogs. This has not happened for over 6 months and she has NEVER bit a person. We have had luck with smaller dogs and she has finally started to show signs of play and has improved a lot in the several months we have housed her, but this is important to keep in mind for her next owner. She also occasionally has potty accidents when she gets too nervous or excited. This has also improved significantly as she has started to feel more safe and comfortable with us. Ruby can also be very persistent when she wants attention and this can become disruptive and frustrating to some, but this just means she requires more patience and understanding. There are a few other habits we have been working on improving with her, but I believe with an experienced trainer/dog owner she will do amazing. (On July 15th Ruby is scheduled to get spayed and all her shots updated. I have confirmed anyone who adopts her can take the appointment should that be needed.) While Ruby has yet to be spayed, she was born with a health condition and her original vet strongly recommended against breeding as it could likely lead to the loss of both Ruby and her litter. With this clarified, please understand that we will not let anyone take her that gives us any indication they will try to breed her as we want her to live a long and happy life. No exceptions, I don't care what your offer is and she isn't a pure breed, so she is worthless to you in that regard. This pup is only good for loving and being a sweetheart so please find another breeding dog. If you are willing to send us a few pictures of the yard she will get to play in, and you are also willing to take the time to help us feel confident she is going to a great and loving home, I won't ask you for a penny. All I do ask is that you get her the following, updated shots (if before July), a comfy bed, a new collar, and maybe some more toys. Please take the time to ask as many questions as you need to feel 100% confident you can be her forever home. Thank you for reading.

Adopt Ruby and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Ruby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Ruby receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Ruby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Ruby's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Ruby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Ruby’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What is Dogecoin?

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Ruby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Ruby’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
