About this Cat
Meet Dexter – Your Personal Snuggle Coach & Hammock King!Dexter is a 3-year-old buff-colored heartthrob with golden good looks and a personality that melts you on contact. With his light orange striped tail and soulful green eyes, he's already handsome—but wait until you feel one of his signature Dexter Hugs. Yes, this lovebug will wrap his big ol’ paws around your neck and rub his face all over yours like he’s known you forever. And check out Dexter's cute little mouth...he always looks like he's smiling right at you!Found living outside, his finder thought he was going to be feral—but Dexter had other plans. One cuddle later, and it was clear: this guy wasn’t wild, just wildly affectionate. He does have an ear tip from his "feral" vet appointment, but it only adds to his irresistible charm.Dexter is calm, cuddly, and absolutely adores food. When he's not lounging in the cozy hammock of his cat tree watching the birds do their thing, he’s happily batting around his toys or giving his humans a full-face, wet, sloppy love attack. He adores other cats and is even cool with dogs, but what he really wants is someone who’s ready to accept all the types of love he has to give—and return the favor.Which brings up our next topic: Dexter's only quirk? He has this odd habit of loving on you like crazy then throwing out a quick swat or nip on the hand out of nowhere if you hit a spot on his body he doesn't like touched, or something startles him. (Which honestly is true for many cats.) For this reason, we need him to go to a loving home with no young children and hopefully with another animal to help get his nips and swats out of his system during fun wrestle sessions. We are guessing he grew up with no siblings or mom to teach him how to play bite appropriately. (The famous single kitten syndrome.) His foster mom is working really hard on desensitizing him to certain body touches at the moment and also identifying exact triggers. She says he truly is the bestest lovebug. He will do great with an understanding, experienced adopter who will continue to work with him on learning what are appropriate behaviors. But don't worry, he's not a serial killer like his namesake. Dexter just doesn't understand yet how to express his likes and dislikes in a loving home instead of the only way he ever knew...defending himself on the streets. Will you be that perfect person who will put up with a scratch or nip here and there to help mold this handsome boy into the Prince he's meant to be?Dexter isn’t just a cat. He’s a full-time snuggle therapist, part-time birdwatcher, lazy hammock lover and your new best friend. Ready to be bear--I mean, cat--hugged daily? Dexter’s waiting just for you!

Adopt Dexter and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dexter's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Dexter's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Dexter, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Dexter's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dexter was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dexter’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Dexter’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dexter’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
