About this Dog
Meet Chief! If you believe the quietest dogs often have the biggest hearts, then Chief might just be your perfect match. This sweet 1-year-old, 12.5 lb. pup (with possible Rat Terrier, Min-Pin, or Chihuahua roots) is a shy guy who’s looking for a calm, patient home where he can truly feel safe and loved. Chief was surrendered when his elderly owner could no longer care for him, and the transition left him understandably unsure of the world. In his local foster home, he’s working hard on his house-training, crate training, and adjusting to new routines. Leash walks are still too overwhelming, so Chief will need a fenced yard to safely enjoy the outdoors at his own pace. He would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with minimal visitors and no kids. However, he does great with cats and other small, calm dogs – in fact, Chief really thrives with the companionship of a confident canine friend who can show him that the world isn’t so scary after all. While it may take a little time for Chief to come out of his shell, once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loyal, sweet, and quietly affectionate. All he needs is a soft place to land and someone who sees the beauty in going slow. His foster days, "Chief has come a long way, but still has more to go. He is gaining confidence each day. In the short time that I’ve fostered him, I’ve seen moments where he forgets whatever life threw at him before and shows a perky, fun side to him. Another well-adjusted dog brings out the best of Chief’s personality. I have no doubt that he will be a sweet, loving addition to the family with patience and love. He is not easy to catch sometimes so a secure leash or small spaces are best until he gets over his shyness.. He likes a soft, soothing voice." He is available for adoption in Hopkinton or Worcester, MA by appointment with an approved adopter. Adopt Chief and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Chief's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Chief's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Chief, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Chief's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chief was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chief’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Chief’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chief’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
