About this Dog
MEET PB! He is a shy, young yellow lab we pulled several weeks ago from the shelter for shutting down. He was quickly adopted and now he has been returned. The adopter said her hours changed at work and she was gone a lot and PB has some separation anxiety---a fear of being abandoned that makes a dog panic when left alone. PB probably needs someone who is home more often right now as he heals. Separation anxiety is NOT a permanent condition. It is a temporary condition that is triggered from the traumatic experience of being homeless in an animal shelter expecting owners to come back that never did. Typically, this resolves itself over the three month period post adoption—which is why we share our 3 x 3 rule. We ask people to give the dogs three days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn routines and 3 months to HEAL. If someone is not home a lot, dogs can go to doggie daycares, and the use of crates can be used until the dog learns that he is safe and that you are coming back. Please no negative comments---we know this is a setback, but we also know his FOREVER home is out there somewhere. Please come see him at Petco on Sat from 11:30-3:30. COMMITTED ADOPTERS ONLY!

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, PB's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and PB was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, PB’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the PB’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, PB’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
