Meet Oreo! Lab Mix | Born ~May 17 | 9.5 lbs Oreo is a sweet, high-energy lab mix puppy with a playful spirit and a heart that melts when he's held. At around 9 weeks old, he’s already showing signs of being a loving, loyal companion who enjoys one-on-one time with his people. While Oreo is still working on potty training (he's currently using potty pads), he’s a smart little guy who’s crate-friendly—he voluntarily goes in to sleep at night without needing the gate closed. He’s still learning the ropes of living in a home and will need continued training, including help with barking, which we’re already working on. Oreo thrives on activity but is also calmer than his brother and enjoys snuggling up for quiet moments. He would do well with an active adopter who can give him attention, structure, and plenty of playtime—plus a cozy lap to curl up in when it’s time to recharge. He can be mouthy so we think he would do best in homes with kids 8 and older and an active family ready to take him on all kinds of adventures. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Oreo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Oreo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Oreo’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Oreo’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
