ADOPTION RETURN NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 7/11/2025: Watto - male - approx 15 years old - 3.4 pounds - Poodle Reason for intake: Watto came to us originally on June 15, 2020, from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter. He was adopted on July 2, 2020. Sadly, the husband passed away in January and the wife passed away a few days ago. We were contacted by their daughter. She could not take care of him either due to illness and there was no one else to take in this sweet boy. Pretty much all vetting is done except a couple of vaccinations. He does have a torn ACL and luxating patella in his right rear leg. He is too old and fragile to do anything about it. He does get around, albeit very slow. We will post in the comments, his picture when he was with us originally. It's sad for us to remember them so vibrant and then very old and fragile. We will post him for adoption soon and we hope someone out there will give this little boy a home for however long he has left. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Watto (NOT YET AVAILABLE - ADOPTION RETURN) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Watto (NOT YET AVAILABLE - ADOPTION RETURN)’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
