About this Dog
I am a sweet dog looking for a quiet home. I can be a bit nervous at first but I warm up fairly quickly. Sometimes I appear to prefer girls over boys, but I will likely love everyone equally once I've had some time to become familiar with my new, loving family. I love to cuddle and give kisses. I love car rides and snuggling on the couch watching TV. I am also very loyal to whoever is caring for me.INSIGHTS FROM MY FOSTER FAMILY:`She is a friendly and affectionate girl who really loves people. Things she is passionate about include: rolling around in nice tall grass, human attention, and especially going for car rides! She's a medium energy dog who enjoys a good walk or hike, and then will happily snuggle up next to you on the couch. Although she loves to be with people, she does well when she needs to be left alone. She can rest calmly in a crate, and has also been left loose in the house for a few hours at a time in her foster home without being destructive. She will gallop around the house to celebrate your return home! She's housebroken and doesn't chew on things that aren't hers. She knows some basic commands and will take a treat gently from your hand as a reward for doing as she's asked. She will be so happy to have a new home and be able to shower her people with doggie affection!`INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Angel is such a sweetie! She did great on our walk and was very loving and playful with my 7 and 11-year-old kids. She showed no hesitation hopping in the car and was a very well-behaved traveler. She knows âsitâ and âlie downâ and seems to respond to her name. She tugged on the leash a bit, but was otherwise an easy hiking companion. Angel will be a great addition to whatever family is lucky enough to adopt her!``Angel was the sweetest and most well-behaved adventure buddy. She loves riding in the car, being outside, rolling in the grass and playing fetch. Sheâs incredibly smart and sheâs loyalâshe stayed right by our side despite meeting us only a few hours before. Sheâs a cuddle bunny, too, and we quickly fell in love with her.``Angel was such a fun adventure buddy on our dog day out. We went on a fun hike where she was excellent on the leash and stayed right by my side. She saw a few people on the trail and was very calm and courteous. Right after the short hike, she was ready for a nap in the car (she thoroughly enjoys car rides). She seems like a dog who would be perfect for someone looking for an adventure buddy for a walk followed by companionship on the couch or relaxing. She has a great demeanor and just wants to be loved!``Angel did very well on our DDO! At first, she was understandably overstimulated and pulling a lot, but whenever there were people nearby, she immediately laid down and let them pet her. She was very calm when she was getting petted. Also, once we got into the car and started driving, she quickly settled down. She did great in the carâyou could tell she just loves being in there. When we arrived at the trail, after getting her initial sniffs in, she immediately did her business. Then, we walked on a loose leash almost the entire time. She pulled once in a while, but was very easily redirected. She's a gentle walker and clearly very happy to be outside. She takes notice of noises, squirrels, and other dogs, but she didnât bark or pull strongly toward themâjust observed from a distance. If a squirrel was close by, she did pull a bit but still didnât bark. She seems a little unsure of which direction to go at times, so her handler needs to guide her. She responded well to gentle leash corrections. The trail we were on was along creek and she seemed very comfortable around the water. She put her paws in the water and just stood calmly. When she tried to drink from it, I redirected her and gave her water from her bowl instead, which she drank right away.Angel is very good at staying still next to her person. She did great walking on both the unpaved and paved portions of the trail. Sheâs curious about her surroundings but did not bark or act out. She stood in the water comfortably but didnât try to go in too deep. She seems content just being wherever her person is.At one point, I sat down on a rock by the creek, and she sat down right next to me. The creek was fairly loud, but she didnât seem bothered by the noise at all. She seems like the kind of dog who could just chill next to you outside. You can tell she enjoys treats and happily eats them, but she doesnât seem that enticed overall, at least not by Milk Bones. Theyâre not enough to distract her from things happening around her. So, sheâs food motivated, but training would probably be most effective in a low-distraction environment using higher value treats.Later, she chilled next to me while I was fishing at a local pond, sitting in a camping chair. She was definitely interested in the noises around her and even tried to chase a groundhog that ran by us (canât blame her for that one, it was really interesting!). She was incredibly sweet, loyal, and gentle when children pet her at the shelter, both before we left and after we returned. She would make an amazing family pet. If adopting another dog were an option for me, Angel would be at the top of my list!` Adopt your new bestie from OCAS today! My adoption fee has been fully sponsored.Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!
