My name is Maggie and I am a black domestic shorthair. I am an intact female (I will be spayed before I am adopted) and I am 10 months old. I was transferred here from another shelter/rescue through the Ames Animal Shelter's Third Chance program on 06/15/2025. I am a good kitty who uses the litterbox! I am a medium energy cat and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally sneak out on their way out the door. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other cats and I can be good with dogs. My foster family said: `Maggie is a little shy at first but will warm up to you quickly. With her sleek black fur and striking green eyes, she's very charming and loves torub her face against you to show her love and affection. Maggie is very friendly and loves head scratches, neck and body rubs and will purr for you at a moments notice.`

After verifying the adoption, MAGGIE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MAGGIE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MAGGIE’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
