About this Dog
Meet Otter! This droopy-eared heartthrob is a classic Basset Hound through and through—stubborn, sweet, and endlessly charming. Otter is a young pup with short legs, big feelings, and a nose that never quits. Like many Bassets, Otter has a bit of a dramatic streak (he sighs like a teenager when told no) and can be vocal about his opinions. He’s crate trained and doing well with structure, but he’s definitely looking for a home that understands the unique quirks of this low-riding breed. Prior Basset Hound or hound experience is highly preferred. Otter gets along well with dogs of all sizes—from towering Great Danes to tiny terriers. He can be a little guard-y around food when other pups are nearby, so mealtimes should be managed with care and clear boundaries. He’s also been respectful of dog-savvy cats, but we think he’d do best in a cat-free home where he can truly relax. Oh—and yes, he’s been neutered! Now we just need to get him some proper glamour shots to show off those ears and that pouty little face. Otter’s ideal match? Someone who appreciates a dog with a strong nose, stronger opinions, and a heart as big as his ears. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-to-the-ground buddy who will keep life interesting (and never let a squirrel sneak by undetected), Otter might just be your guy. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ: • If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this. • All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date. • Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.

Adopt Otter and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Otter's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Otter's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Otter, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Otter's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Otter was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Otter’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."

We want the Otter’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Otter’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
