About this Dog
Moose (formerly known as Theroux) came into the shelter as an abandoned dog in December where he gained quite the fan club among volunteers because of his incredibly sweet and cuddly personality. He’s very treat motivated and eager to learn! Moose was such a good boy in the shelter he was chosen for a volunteer pack hike, where his volunteer handler described him as a dream date. He rode well in the car, walked great on leash in the park, and made new human friends. He did really well in playgroup and is dog social. He is nervous around strangers, but he was always lovely with his volunteer friends. Sadly, his time ran out at the shelter and he almost lost his life - but a wonderful foster stepped in and we were able to rescue him and his precious young life was saved. NOTES FROM HIS FOSTER: I’ve been fostering this sweet boy and he’s been such a joy to have around. He’s super loving, playful, and full of energy with so much affection to give. He really enjoys being around people and does best with a routine. He’s also great in his crate and fully potty trained, which makes things easy. He loves playing with his toys. He’ll run around with them for a bit, then tire himself out and take a nice little nap. He’s very food motivated and loves learning new commands. He’s already doing well with sit and down, and we’re currently working on paw. He picks things up quickly. He listens well, though he can get a little startled here and there since he’s still adjusting to his new environment. Walks are going well too. He sometimes gets distracted by other dogs or people, but he stays calm and doesn’t react. He just observes and keeps moving. He really is such a good boy and would make an amazing companion for someone looking for a fun, smart, and loving dog!!!Moose would make a great family dog or loyal companion to someone as he is playful yet relaxed, obedient, eager to please, loyal, loves his toys and walks, and is a gentle soul. He deserves only the best of the best hoomans. Could that be you?
