About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 06/21/25 Reason for being in rescue: Breeder release/puppy that did not sell Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet, SC Special Needs? Romeo is up to date on vaccines for his age. He has been dewormed. Weight: 25 lbs and growing - We expect Romeo will be between 50-55 lbs when full grown Height: 16 in and growing - We expect Romeo will be between 22-24 inches when full grown Spayed/Neutered: Romeo is not neutered. He will be placed on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him at your expense within 12 months and provide proof of neuter. Adoption Fee: $699 Fence needed? Yes, Romeo requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Romeo requires a home with another active dog for socialization and play. A person scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and can provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night is a must. He is a baby and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training. Poodle puppies are always in need of a canine friend, they love to run and play with one another. Poodle puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically, so a fenced in yard will be required. Poodle puppies are very well rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a poodle puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well, it is important to note that poodles can have a high prey drive. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! What is my personality like? Meet Romeo – The Lover, The Learner, The Future Gentleman. Ah, Romeo — a name that promises charm, passion, and a whole lot of charisma. And this standard poodle puppy is ready to live up to every syllable of it… with a little help from a doggy role model and a human who knows their way around some positive reinforcement. Romeo is young, smart, and full of potential. He’s got a good head on his very fluffy shoulders and a spark in his eye that says, “I’m gonna be somebody.” But like any good leading man in training, Romeo needs guidance—a confident, well-mannered dog companion who isn’t easily pushed around. Not necessarily a rough-and-tumble playmate (though he loves a good romp!), but a strong, steady dog who can show him the ropes and keep him humble when his sass starts showing. You see, Romeo is learning about boundaries and space sharing—mostly that they exist. He can get a little protective of “his” stuff, but once he’s out of those zones, he’s just another dog in the crowd, making friends, playing nice, and soaking up the fun. Larger dogs tend to be the best fit for his still-developing social skills—he's still working on remembering that small dogs are not, in fact, invincible action figures. Romeo loves humans—almost as much as he loves food—and once he bonds with you, you’ll see just how well this boy can listen. He knows his name and responds like a champ. He walks decently on a leash (he gives it about a B+ right now), and with a little training and consistency, he’s going to be a dream. If you’re looking for a puppy with brains, boldness, and big potential—and you’ve got a steady canine guide at home to help him be the best version of himself—then Romeo just might be your guy. He’s not just looking for love; he’s looking for the life lessons that make a dog a legend. How do I act when I first meet new people? Romeo happily and enthusiastically greets new people. Other tips and tidbits: Monroe's birthdate is 01/27/25 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
