About this Bird
Hatch Date: 2020 Meet Cory, a 5-year-old Green Cheek Conure. Believed to be a male. Cory is quiet when he’s inside his house unless other birds in the household are squawking, at which point he’ll talk back to them. He prefers to be. Out and about off his house, however, flying to a play perch or couch, or walking on the floor exploring his surroundings, so he should be monitored when out. And if he’s startled, he’ll fly around, usually landing anywhere except his house. Cory prefers the male in the household, bonding quicker to him than to a female. When he feels someone else is getting too close, he becomes territorial of his person. He also enjoys nibbling on his person’s feet or shoes while they’re hanging out together on the couch. Cory doesn’t like fingers, so getting him to “step up” requires a perch dowel/stick to return him to his cage. Care is needed when opening the doors to his cage or changing out the food and water bowls. At times, he might also nip for no discernible reason. Cory loves to take sink baths instead of using his water bowls and will fly to the sink when he hears the water running He will then jump in for a shower when the stream is slow. Please make sure you are aware of this and that the water is not on full "HOT" This usually happens every 2-3 days. Cory is on a healthy pellet diet and is learning to eat fresh foods like cooked Quinoa, carrots, sweet potatoes, and greens. His favorite nighttime treat is a piece of walnut or millet. He also gets covered at night; otherwise, he will start chirping at sunrise. Cory is being fostered in Cherry Hill, NJ. We do not ship our adoptable birds. For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits. If interested in adopting Cory, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org Please read our adoption policies and fees and complete an adoption application.

Adopt Cory and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Cory's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Cory's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Cory, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Cory's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cory was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cory’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Cory’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cory’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
